De Canalblog à WordPress : Pourquoi je me suis lancée!
Bonjour tout le monde !
Vous vous demandez peut être pourquoi j’ai décidé de passer de Canalblog à WordPress !
( pour qui me connait déjà, mon ancien blog était hummingbirdnessa.com )
Dans cet article je vais tenter de répondre à (presque!) toutes les questions que vous vous posez !
Lorsque j’ai crée mon tout premier blog c’était vraiment un hobby, un passe temps ! Je n’y publiais pas grand chose, je me souviens même que je cachais mon visage !
C’était en 2013/2014 .
J’ai ouvert mon petit blog sous Canalblog. Super simple , au top !
Aujourd’hui mon petit blog était bien loin de mes attentes, de mes projets, de ma personnalité !
Pas beaucoup d’options.On essaye de bidouiller comme on peut pour le rendre agréable esthétiquement mais ça ne me suffisait plus.
Et ce n’est pas qu’une question d’esthétique d’ailleurs. Ce qui me dérangeait vraiment c’est de constater que mon contenu, mon blog, mes pensées et mes mots ne m’appartenaient pas !
Vous le saviez? Votre blog ouvert sur Canalblog, skyblog ( pour les anciens ahah ) ou même par exemple WordPress.com ne vous appartiennent pas à 100% !
C’est pourquoi je me suis lancée dans l’aventure WordPress.org !
Le « .org » est super important car ici votre site (et donc tout son contenu) est à vous. Vous en êtes le seul propriétaire !
Et lorsque l’on veut évoluer et « passer à la vitesse supérieure » cela m’a paru vraiment primordial.
Tellement de nouveaux horizons, de personnalisations , d’esthétiques !
Ce nouveau blog et son adresse par elle même sont maintenant bien à moi et à mon image.
Et j’espère qu’il vous plaira !
Alors oui, c’est beaucoup, beaucoup de travail !
Des heures et des heures passées à regarder des tutos ( merci Alex pour votre aide précieuse) car quand on y connait rien, on galère.
Changer ceci, modifier cela, peaufiner…jusqu’à ce que finalement vous vous sentiez satisfaite.
Merci Youtube aussi d’ailleurs !
Mais le résultat est là !
J’y pensais depuis très longtemps mais je n’osais pas me lancer. Et maintenant que c’est chose faite c’est un gros soulagement!
Un conseil, lancez vous !! De Canalblog à WordPress il n’y a qu’un pas ! Le travail et l’audace payent toujours !

Why I decided to jump into the WordPress world ?
You may be wondering why I opened this new site (for whoever already knows me, my blog was hummingbirdnessa.com)
In this post I will try to answer (almost!) all the questions you would like to ask me !
When I created my very first blog it was really a hobby! I did not publish much, I even remember that I was hiding my face!
It was in 2013/2014.
I opened my little blog under Canalblog. Super simple, it was perfect for somebody like me who doesn’t know much about data processing!
Today my little blog Canalblog is far from my expectations, my projects, my personality!
Not many options. We try to hack as we can to make it aesthetically pleasing but it was not enough anymore.
And it’s not just about aesthetics. What really bothered me was that my content, my blog, my thoughts and my words did not belong to me!
Did you know it? Your blog open on Canalblog, skyblog (for old ahah) or even for example WordPress.com do not belong to you 100%! You are not the owner!
That’s why I jumped in the WordPress.org adventure!
The « .org » is very important because here your site (and therefore all its content) is yours. You are the only owner!
And when you want to evolve and « move up a gear » it seemed really important.
So many new horizons, customizations, aesthetics!
This new blog and its address by itself are now at my image, my personality
And I hope you like it!
So yes, it’s a lot, a lot of work!
Hours and hours spent watching tutos because when we know nothing, it’s hard.
Change this, change that, tweak … until finally you feel satisfied.
Thank you Youtube too!
But the result is there !
I had been thinking about it for a very long time but I did not dare to start. And now that it’s done, it’s a big relief!
A tip : get started , DO IT ! Work and audacity always pay!

I agree !! I was thinking about it since a looong time but was so scary ! Not for the amount of work but more for the « big change » . And I really don’t regret !
